Traveling with Time
By: Connie Miên-Thảo Trần
The age of innocence last
only for a handful of time
Steadily slipping through the fingers, leaving but emptiness behind
The bareness that is felt by a person’s heart and soul
Of a grown person who cannot learn to let go
The hands on the clock
are ticking
The grains of sand in an hour-glass are sinking
I’m on a one way flight to a far away land
A journey to unexplored sands
Being pushed and edged
forward by time
You cannot change the system, you cannot rewind
Like gravity that pulls you to the earth
Time will take you to your final berth
No matter how hard you
fight it
No matter how much you fake it
Time will keep you from the innocence of childhood
Time will keep you moving, regardless of where you once stood
Follow the voyage time
take you without hesitation
For every railroad is new, with its own different stations
Every bend and every turn that is taken
Lends you to your final destination. |
